At Friendship House, the work we do every day matters. We support individuals and families through some of life’s most challenging moments. While this work is deeply meaningful, it can also be demanding—emotionally, mentally, and physically.

That’s why taking care of yourself is not just encouraged—it’s essential.

Self-care is not a luxury; it’s a professional responsibility. When we prioritize our well-being, we strengthen our ability to show up fully for those we serve and for each other.

Simple Ways to Prioritize Self-Care

  • Take your earned time off and disconnect when possible
  • Step away for short breaks during your day
  • Stay hydrated and maintain healthy routines
  • Get fresh air or take a walk
  • Set boundaries to support work-life balance

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, please reach out—to your supervisor, HR, or through the EAP. Support is always available.

Taking care of yourself is one of the most important ways you can continue to care for others.
